Changhong Launches New HDR TVs

We stopped by the Changhong at IFA. We saw a lot of TVs, most of which were previously shown at CES 2016. This includes a line of curved OLED 65” HDR TVs that looked quite good and a lot of LCD TVs.

New at IFA is a 75” LCD HDR 4K TV. It offers HDR10 and will top a line of TVs that run from 43” to 75”. The company is also working on a Dolby Vision line of TVs, but these will be reserved for the China market only. All these TVs are being branded with a new name, ChiQ, which will be used for international markets.

In the innovative category, Changhong showed a very slim TV with a top section 4mm thick and a bottom section at only 15 mm using an LCD panel. To do this, they remove all of the electronics from the TV and placed them in a separate canister style box that also serves as a speaker. Other configurations with two speakers and a sound bar are in the works.
