Changhong is Quiet

Changhong was promoting a new brand, ‘Chiq TV’, which applies to all of its new sets to be launched this year.

The Q2A and Q2AE TVs are OLED sets, using panels from LG Display. They are 55″ and 65″ curved TVs with UltraHD, voice control, MHL-HDMI and HDMI 2.0 inputs and a wide colour gamut. The Q2AE models are feature HDR. They are available now in China and “some” Asian countries.

Changhong’s other TV in the Chiq brand is a 98″ 8k LCD model, also using an LGD panel. It is called the 98ZHQ2R. The TV has a wide colour gamut (although the company could not provide any specifics on the technology), 8k MEMC, MHL, HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports. It has a smart TV system based on Android 4.4.

A concept autostereo 3D TV was also being shown on the stand – one of the very few that we saw at CES. The 3D effect was good (perhaps because viewers were forced to stand a good way back from the set!), but we saw significant colour banding.
