Google recently announced its Jamboard collaboration 55″ UltraHD interactive display solution. (Google Announces Jamboard Interactive Meeting Display). Now the company has announced deals in the US and Europe to distribute the hardware through BenQ. The display has been priced at ‘under $6,000’ in the US and will ship in Q1 2017.
Analyst Comment
This looks like the earlier phase of the Google smartphone business, where it designed a platform and a brand (Nexus), but let others make and sell the product, at least early on. In the case of the smartphone, of course, Google is now selling the Pixel itself. (BR)
