Barco Silex has validated its new hardware solution IP core against the SMPTE 2042-3 reference. The core is now ready for integrated in ASIC and FPGA designs and can be used to transport UltraHD video.
Barco’s solution uses the VC-2 Low Delay codec. The codec compresses video 4:1, which is described as visually lossless). It has also been accepted as a standard in SMPTE 2042.
