Barco Silex said that Imagenics of Japan is using its VC-2 HQ codec (standardized as SMPTE ST-2042) in its new 4K IMG.Link Rev2 HDMI receiver and transmitter modules for long range video transmission. They support 444 colour video transmission of 4K@60 HDMI 2.0 / HDCP 2.2 and use compression of from 2:1 to 6:1. Imagenics supported the technology as having simple core integration, with only simple register settings being needed.
