Avocor Moves to Optical Bonding

Avocor is doing pretty well for a UK-based company in the competitive world of interactive displays. The company was a highlight of last year, when it launched Windows-based displays using FlatFrog in-glass touch. This year, the emphasis was on the new E Series which has the unusual feature of using an optically-bonded which, of course, improves the contrast and sharpness of the display. All of the new E series support UltraHD resolution and staff drew our attention to the weight, with the 86″ weighing 60 kg, which makes handling and mounting easier – and mounting, the firm told us, is often a challenge in education.

OPS is standard and Avocor has its own module which supports Windows 10. Because the infrared technology can meet the Microsoft requirements, the displays are supported by Microsoft software. That means that the company has been able to become a partner for the Intel Unite platform.

Pricing for the three versions will be 65″ – £2,500 ($3,550), 75″ – £3,750 ($5,250) and 86″ – £5,400 ($7,670).

Avocor also announced that it has Oktopus software, which is said to be popular in the UK and also has software that is compatible with Smart Notebooks and Promethean software. The firm said that it has an exclusive deal on the Oktopus software at the moment.
