AOpen Claims Smallest Chromebox

AOpen has announced two new Chrome-based boxes. The Chromebase Mini is an interactive 10.1″ all-in-one touchscreen solution. It’s designed to be managed with ease, reliability, and security for high-traffic enterprise environments and applications including digital signage, POS, self-service kiosks, digital corporate communication, and AV room control. The device is water resistant and tamper-proof and the display is 1280 x 800 resolution using a 250 cd/m² AHVA panel with 10 point touch. The CPU is a quad core Cortex-A17 of up to 1.8GHz. Memory is 4GB and storage is 16GB. There is an integrated 2 megapixel webcam.

The second device, the Chromebox Mini, claimed to be the smallest Chromebox on the market today and also runs on the Chrome OS platform. It is solid state and can be used as an SME or enterprise desktop replacement hosting IoT applications, digital signage, and kiosks, allowing greater control of in-store engagement. It shares specification with the Chromebase Mini.
