AltspaceVR said recently that it would be closing down its VR-based social network because of a lack of finance. (AltspaceVR Closing Down on August 3rd) However, the company said:
“We’re now deep in discussions with others who are passionate about AltspaceVR who want to guarantee that our virtual oasis stays open. We feel confident saying to our community that you don’t need to find another place to meet your friends in virtual reality. AltspaceVR is not closing down”.
There has been speculation that Oculus founder, Palmer Luckey, might be behind the move following a tweet when he asked if he should save it.
