Rosen Aviation has extended its range of aviation OLED displays and has added 65″ and 77″ options that will be available in mid-2023. The 65″ will weigh 16.3 kg (36lbs) and the 77″ will weigh 19.5kg (43lbs). The company highlighted the weight saving over LCD displays.
What We Think
The firm was previously using panels from JOLED and admitted to having had some supply chain challenges. However the 65″ and 77″ are, presumably, coming from LGD.
Digging around, I found a reference to an interior design for a Boeing 787-8 that is described as a ‘flying palace’ and has two OLEDs connected to fuselage cameras to act as virtual windows – but no picture, sadly/ (BR)
