As we saw at MWC, companies including Samsung are developing systems to allow multiple computer workspaces in virtual environments (MWC 4YFN Show Buzzes). As well as allowing ‘unlimited’ display size and resolution, the concept allows display sharing remotely. Bigscreen is a company that has raised $3 million for developing this kind of application.
The Bigscreen app, which has been developed for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, allows three virtual monitors and also allows viewers to create ‘virtual rooms’ to share content. The company has developed a new version of its application which adds features to hide monitors and support USB monitors. The software can be used with PCs that do not have physical monitors by using a ‘headless dongle’. Check out the application on Steam.
