Sources in the supply chain are suggesting that brands that are backing the Microsoft Holographic platform are not ordering high volumes of components for delivery in 2017, but are treating the market as being in a testing and development phase. As well as PC brands, companies such as 3Glasses from China are developing products. The 3Glasses S1 Bulbur will use 2K LCD displays (704 ppi) with 120Hz refresh, 10ms response time and 110º field of view. The company claims that it has special LCDs that ‘remove more than 99% of short wave blue light’ to ‘protect the eyes’.
