Gaming monitor competition to heat up in 2017

Sources in Taiwan have suggested that volumes of 144Hz gaming monitors will rise from 550-600K units in 2015 to 1.2 million this year, accounting for as much as 3% of monitor market value because of the higher ASPs. The sources suggest they could double to 2.5 million this year and add another million to 3.5 million in 2018. 24″ is said to be the most widely sold, globally, followed by 27″ and 34-35″. Curved monitor shipments were described as ‘not significant’.
