Alpha Display of Korea has introduced a range of industrial monitors in 21.5″, 23″, 23.8″, 24″ (16:9) and 27″ with integrated procap touch (2 or 10 points). The border cover glass has rounded corners and is available in thicknesses up to 6mm. Applications include gaming machines, industrial, transportation, kiosks and medical.
Two LG digital signage products have been announced for the DACH region. The 49WEC is a cooler with a 49″ transparent display on the front (using an IPS panel); it will be on sale in May, for €9,720. An 86″ stretch display, with a 58:9 aspect ratio is on sale now. The 86BH5C is 2m long and 0.35m tall. It costs €8,425.
Samsung‘s UBD0K8500 UltraHD Blu-ray player has been certified with the UltraHD Premium logo, from the UHD Alliance (UHD-A Extends Certification to Blu-ray Players).
A software update is now available for Sony‘s VPL-VW320ES projector (Sony Enhances Mobile Display – Will it be Enough?), which enables support for the HDR 10 format. The update will be available from http://tinyurl.com/jnj858b at the end of May.
