Net Display Systems was demonstrating its Pads 4 digital signage software (mentioned by the firm’s UK distributor, Anders and Kern when we met the company at the Retail Digital Signage Expo, last week). When they explained that their big message was that their software could integrate flight information, advertising, queue management and security information, we thought this sounded familiar and the company admitted that one of its biggest partners was NEC, so the “‘surface” message was one that it had, at least, endorsed, if not initiated by Net Display! We asked if the software was cloud-based, but it seems that airports are not prepared to let their data out of their control, so it is all hosted locally, according to the firm.
