Lang Moves, Retains Competencies

Lang AG NEC touch tableDue to the expansion of Samsung’s stand, Lang AG and Panasonic had both moved to a different area of Hall 1 this year. The companies work together closely, and Lang had one of Panasonic’s newest projectors in a demo suite.

The PT-DZ21K2 (aka Evolution) is an update to the PT-DZ21K (Display Monitor Vol 19 No 6), adding the ability to show high framerate content; Lang was showing a demonstration of the same content on an original PT-DZ21K and the Evolution, at 60fps and 120fps.

On-stand, a PT-RZ12K – Panasonic’s new laser phosphor projector – was being shown in portrait mode. Lang had encased the unit in one of its own rental stands, and was demonstrating 360° projection and mapping capabilities. The PT-RZ12K will be available within one month’s time.

Big – and we do mean BIG – news took the form of NEC’s 98″ X981UHD (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 28) LCD display. Lang had installed its own infra-red Primetouch technology, enabling 32 touch points. It was being used as a large gaming machine and was attracting a lot of interest. Lang was launching the screen at the show.

Barco launched its E2 UltraHD image processor at the show (Barco Claims World’s Quietest Laser Projector), and Lang had a solution for it. The RPC-E2 is the first console terminal for Barco’s processor, with 40 directly-available presets via LAN.

Finally, it wouldn’t have been Lang’s stand without a high-quality LED display, although rather than Siliconcore (2013) or Leyard (2014), this year’s display was supplied by Aoto. The 110″ board had a 1.2mm pixel pitch, 1,200:1 contrast ratio and 160° viewing angles. The display looked excellent, but each module costs €45,000!
