An LCD TV using quantum dots from QD Vision has been developed and released by TCL in China. The H9700 is a 55″ UltraHD model, and the company’s first QD TV, covering 100% NTSC.
TCL expects to expand availability to regions outside of China in 2015. To adapt to use in different global regions, it features standard ports to support different systems, such as ATV and HbbTV. The panel is supplied by China Star Optoelectronics Technology, a TCL affiliate.

We have contacted TCL for more details about the TV, but had not received a reply before we went to press. We expect to see the TV at CES in January as the company showed a prototype to us at IFA. (TA)
