Visitors to the 57th annual Hessentag in Russelheim am Main were treated to a holographic 3D video projection-mapping spectacular as each evening’s final act.
The exhibition explored the history of the city of Russelheim and was created by technical service provider Gahrens + Battermann in collaboration with event agency Marketing4D.
The ten-minute performance began on an 8 x 5m permeable gauze projection surface on a small stage positioned in front of the city’s town hall. An actor interacted with the holograms from behind the curtain, before the projection-mapping moved across seamlessly to the huge 44 x 11m facade of the town hall itself. Street light lamps were removed for the event and at least three projectors were in each tower (although we couldn’t identify whose, at press time. Let us know if you know who supplied them)
You can check out a video of the performance right here.
