Data Modul was, of course, at the show with a strong presence. We asked about the Arrow acquisition and it seems that “the deal is not yet done” although it looks likely that it will go through. Arrow is said to have expressed serious interest in the ability of the Data Modul Weikersheim facility to add value with services such as touch addition and bonding up to 32″, but others at the show (not from Data Modul) don’t see Arrow as being interested long term in the systems business.
At the show, emphasis was being put on the firm’s ability to locally design touch surfaces and controllers as well as allowing custom glass and bonding options.
Analyst Comments
While I can see Arrow being interested in the “added value” touch and bonding facilities that it has, we’d be surprised if Arrow was really interested in the long term in the Conrac display business. It’s a good brand name and for someone that wanted to get into or develop a transport signage business, it might make an interesting acquisition. (BR)
