13 Litemax Has Lots to Show in Special Displays

Litemax of Taiwan is a speciality monitor supplier that had plenty to show. It had ATM displays with up to 2,500 cd/m² of brightness and supporting -20° C to +60° operation. There was a new 42″ digital signage monitor that is said to get colour coverage up to 97% of NTSC. Staff told us that the “special ingredient” is a new controller board that allows better colour adjustment. It is said to be very good at allowing set makers to compensate for the white point variations between different panel makers.

Litemax has always made bright and rugged displays and now has certification for a range of its displays, in 49″, 28″ and 38″ (stretch) that are approved for use in rail and other transport applications. Brightness can be up to 2,000 cd/m². Litemax has been working on creating “stretch” displays from UltraHD panels which can overcome some of the resolution limits of earlier displays.

A small stretch display was being shown that is being used in gaming machines. It supports 10 finger touch, but can also be used to show advertising when the machine is not being used.

Finally, we looked at a 24″ 1,000 cd/m² IPS monitor for marine applications. The monitor supports operation at the very low levels of brightness needed when operated at night with operators using their night vision.
