ZTE was promoting a quick introduction of 5G at MWC. It also said that it is working with Velcom of Belarus to deploy the first commericial 5G-ready virtual core network in Belarus. The company was also showing a prototype 5G smartphone that was downloading at 1.2GHz by using 3CC downlink carrier aggregation with 4×4 MIMO and 256QAM modulation.
Much of the booth was devoted to the Axon M, dual screen smartphone, which was shown at CES. A new handset at the show was the ZTE Blade V9 and V9 Vita. The V9 has a 5.7″ display and the Vita, a 5.45″ and they are both FullHD+ 18:9 format and with in-cell touch. The screen to body ratio of the V9 is 83.6% Specifications are in the table below but the company was highlighting the low light performance of the rear dual camera and new faster autofocus.
The Vita has a Snapdragon 435 processor and runs Android O, while the camera is still a dual unit, the resolutions are 13mp and 2mp. There are two versions with 2GB/16GB or 3GB/32GB.
Pricing in Europe will be €179 for the Vita and €269 for the V9.
