Xbox One Receiving 120Hz Refresh Support in May Update

Hot on the heels of 1440p resolution, variable refresh rate, auto low latency mode and HDMI 2.1 features, Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One will receive support for monitors with a 120Hz refresh rate at 1080p and 1440p resolutions as of its next firmware update, due in May. It is expected to be demoed at the E3 show.

Analyst Comment

It hasn’t been confirmed whether the refresh rate boost will be specific to Xbox One X or whether the less powerful Xbox One S will receive this feature as well. If both versions receive the update, it’s likely that the X model will have a significant performance advantage. (AF)
