Apologies – yesterday I reported on Meta’s developments in XR displays but I missed the source of that content which is a one hour video from ‘Adam Savage’s Tested’ that includes an interview with Mark Zuckerberg. The YouTuber got a chance to try the different R&D developments. (Meta shows its AR/VR work)
There’s an interesting segment on how Meta models the optical distortions and corrections that it expects to see in different designs and there is a section that concentrates on the size reduction of optics.
What We Think
If you are in this area, you might want to spend the hour to see the videos of different prototypes and development products. The discussion on the different approaches to the Half Dome variable focus project was quite interesting, although I think everything said has already been said by Meta. (BR)
