What They Say
Vuzix introduced its newest Vuzix Shield Smart Glasses that are intended for enterprise customers. The headset is based on a Snapdragon XR1 platform and used dual monochrome green microLED stereo displays with 1 micron pixels and the firm’s own waveguides as well as stereo HD cameras and noise-cancelling microphones. The sides of the glasses have capacitive touchpads, usable with gloves. The glasses are approved as safety glasses to ANSI Z87.1.
There is a very short video here and Chris also made a video with his comments here.
The firm also added to its M-Series of smart glasses, the M400-C, which is a display only designed to operate as a USB-C peripheral display and is based on an OLED. It will be available in Q2 2022 at $1,199.
What We Think
Interestingly, the spec sheet doesn’t list the resolution but the firm said last year that it would be working with JBD. That firm’s monochrome projector takes up just 0.35cc and has VGA resolution. (BR)
