Vuze recently announced the newest addition to its range of cameras, the Vuze XR. According to the device’s website, the Vuze XR can transform from a 360° camera to a VR180 camera at the touch of a button.
Users can capture and share full 360° or VR180 video or photos, plus “5.7K” video. It can also be used to stream live to popular social media channels.
The device has a spherical resolution of 2160p per eye and is capable of capturing H.264 video in 3D at 30 fps, or 2D at 60 fps. It incorporates eight Sony FHD image sensors and
eight f/2.4 fisheye lenses.
The Vuze XR is available to order now, priced at $1,195.
Analyst Comment
I was sure that I had read in our newsletter that there is a view in content creation circles that in reality, few people look much beyond 180º in video after an initial check that the view behind exists, so there is little point in capturing 360º when 180º simplifies things considerably. However, I was unable to find it despite an extended search! If any readers remember who said it, please let me know. (BR)
