The South Korean government has opened a new centre in Western Seoul to act as a hub for developments in Virtual Reality. There has been an opening ceremony for the Korea Virtual Reality – Augmented Reality Complex (KoVAC) at Sangam Digital Media City centre. There are two zones in the Centre, a Digital Pavilion which includes a studio for content creation and an experience centre for AR and VR. There is also a VR support centre which will be working on R&D. The aim is to support start-ups and small companies and 18 companies have already got representation. The science ministry is expected to invite a further fifty companies to join in.
