Vizio reported revenues well down from Q4 2020 in the last quarter of 2021, from $734.3 million to $628.8 million overall with GP falling from $101.9 million to $77.1 million. For the year, revenue grew 4% to $2.1 billion. For the quarter, the overall loss was $10.1 million and for the year was $39.4 million down from profits last year of $40.8 million and $102.5 million, respectively.
On the positive side, the firm’s ‘Platform+ net revenue grew 75% to $105.1 million in Q4 and to $308.7 million for the year, up 110%. In the quarter, SmartCast Hours increased 11% to 3.9 billion and the number of SmartCast Active Accounts grew 24% to 15.1 million.
What We Think
Vizio has been changing its revenue profile significantly and that it has got to nearly 17% of its revenues by Q4 2021 is a pretty good achievement and it is also adding subscribers, which is a positive sign. (BR)
