Vive Face Tracker Now Being Offered

What They Say

HTC has made available a face tracking option for its Vive Pro headset for $129.99. There are 60p dual cameras that are said to track 38 facial movements in the lips, jaw, teeth, tongue, chin, and cheeks.

What We Think

I think face tracking could be a useful additional input to help systems to understand the reactions of users to XR, although I’m not sure my face is the same when it has VR goggles clamped on! Still, if you track the user, you can manage the experience. I started to understand the benefits when HP included it in its VR headset. Mark Zuckerberg also mentioned the importance of tracking the user. (HP Extends XR Beyond the Visuals) and (Mark Zuckerberg Talks on the Future of AR and VR) (BR)
