Virgin Media (now owned by Liberty Media) is rumoured to be ready release a new ‘V6’ Tivo box with UltraHD support, as Virgin has invited the press to attend an event on the 30th November. The company released a picture of a new box earlier this year.
Separately, Virgin Media said that it added an extra 92,000 subscriptions in Q3, the best UK Q3 result in seven years and for the Tivo service added 67,000 homes.
The relaunch as Virgin TV is now underway with a new user interface. 4G mobile services launched in Ireland in July and will launch in the UK this month. That means it has 5.25 million customers, with 3.7 million taking a TV service, 4.87 buying broadband and 4.4 million with telephone services.
