Viaaccess-Orca, in Paris, France, said that it will show its secured 360º VR content solution. The aim of the technology is to ‘dramatically’ improve video quality while maximizing bandwidth efficiency and assist with monetisation. The company has pre-integrated technologies and services from Tiledmedia, Harmonic, and Digital Immersion.
The Tiledmedia’s patented Tiled VR Streaming technology is claimed to enable VR streaming with five times the resolution of other solutions, at comparable bitrates, over today’s networks using existing devices. The company said that the system is suitable for delivery of on-demand and live services over existing CDNs and that Tiled VR Streaming works with any display device, including head-mounted displays, phones, and tablets. Viaccess-Orca is providing the security for the Tiledmedia content.
Harmonic also put out a message of support for the solution and Viaccess-Orca said that it will be at CES.
