Varjo opens new doors for its Reality Cloud with support for Unity and Unreal

What They Say

Varjo has added support for Unity and Unreal to its Reality Cloud platform. Up to now, the platform was focused on using Autodesk’s VRED. The use of the Cloud platform has enabled the extension of support to more client devices including a range of notebooks.

What We Think

Hat-tip to JPR for spotting this. I was impressed with what Varjo was able to do with its platform when I had a demo and extending the range of applications is going to be a real help in moving the use of the headsets into applications beyond automotive engineering, which was one of its first targets. I told the firm when I saw the demo that I thought that there was real potential in virtual production and adding Unity and Unreal support will certainly help there.

The demands of the Varjo headset if you want to match it with content, are very high and so Varjo’s cloud solution uses dedicated Nvidia-based AWS servers to support it. (BR)
