V-Nova’s Perseus Drives Aerospace Telemetry

V-Nova has shown off the capability of its Perseus compression technology (V-Nova’s Perseus Lowers UltraHD Bandwidth Requirements), for use in aerospace applications. The codec was used in the flight of Airbus’ all-electric E-Fan technology demonstrator aircraft across the English Channel. Perseus was used during the flight to provide up- and downstream 1280 x 720 video, at 25fps, over a standard 3G mobile network. Video was transmitted to the cockpit and enabled personnel to track the flight’s progress on mobile devices.
