SMPTE’s Annual Technical Conference, in Los Angeles, event will take place between 20th and 23rd October. 3M’s Jimmy Thielen will present a talk on using quantum dot films to cover the Rec.2020 colour gamut on UltraHD TVs, on 22nd October. On the same day Josef Marc, CMO of Archimedia Technology, will discuss UltraHD viewing. Marc’s talk will centre around the need to view UltraHD content in the incomplete UltraHD ecosystem, as well as touching on the ways in which high-resolution content is watched today on screens that cannot support it.
