The eRetail Sales Index by IMRG Capgemini has shown that the UK’s online sales increased 37% MoM and 20% YoY in November. Representing the largest October-to-November increase in the 14-year history of the Index (and largest YoY rise in 2014), sales jumped to £12.1 billion ($19 billion). A high level of trade on Black Friday, when sales rose 135% YoY, was thought to be responsible for the increase. Tablet and smartphone orders were up 80% YoY, while the electricals category increased 22%. Average spend per shopper was down about 9%.
