Toshiba has appointed Satoshi Tsunakawa – president of the firm’s medical systems division – as the company’s new CEO. He will replace interim CEO Masashi Muromachi in June, following shareholder approval. Toshiba hopes to draw a line under its accounting scandal with the new appointment.
“My biggest task would be to rebuild trust from stakeholders and transform the company under our new action plans,” Tsunakawa told a press conference.
