Low April for Taiwanese Makers

AUO‘s revenues were down 15.5% YoY, to NT$25.8 billion ($796.6 million). Large-size (10″+) panel shipments fell 6.4% MoM to 8.9 billion, while small-to-medium panel shipments were down 7% to 13.7 million units.

Year-to-date revenue was NT$97 billion ($3 billion), down 23% YoY.

Chunghwa Picture Tubes announced April revenues of NT$3.2 billion ($98.4 million), down 1.2% MoM and 22.6% YoY. Year-to-date revenues totalled NT$12.7 billion ($390.4 million), down 27.1% YoY. The firm shipped 43,000 large-size panels (down 41.5% MoM and 60.8% YoY) and 31.8 million small-to-medium units (down 6.1% MoM and 10.5% YoY).

Hannstar Display has reported April revenues of NT$1.2 billion ($36.9 million): up 2.7% MoM but down 18.7% YoY. Its year-to-date revenues were down 29.1% to NT$4.8 billion ($147.6 million).

Hannstar shipped 102,000 large-size and own-brand panels in April, and almost 22 million small-to-medium panels. These figures were down 17.1% and 11.5%, respectively.

Innolux has reported revenues of NT$20.9 billion ($642.5 million) for April, up 11.9% MoM and down 35.4% YoY. In the year-to-date, Innolux made NT$77.4 billion ($2.4 billion) – down 41.7% YoY.

Innolux shipped 2.5% more large-size panels and 15.4% small-to-medium panels in April 2016 than April 2015: 8.2 million and 19 million, respectively.
