Aiming at the custom AV sector, TiVo has unleashed a massive DVR: the TiVo Mega, boasting 24TB of storage space. The unit can record 26,000 hours of content in SD or 4,000 in HD. It is rack-mountable, features hot-swappable drives, six tuners and an integrated transcoder to send content to mobile devices inside and outside the home. Up to 11 TiVo Minis (for whole-home DVR set ups) are supported. The Mega is expected to be released in Q1’15 and be sold for $5,000.
