TiVo CEO Tom Rogers has said (at the Internet and TV Expo) that the company is developing an OTA service based on the Aereo (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 16) model – but “done legally and better”. Aereo streamed live TV over the internet to supported web browsers and devices, but was shut down after broadcaster complaints. TiVo, which acquired Aereo’s trademarks and customer lists, plans to share more information in the summer.
