Millward Brown’s annual ‘Brandz’ report (http://tinyurl.com/pmmjurd) contains quite the win for technology firms: four are in the top five, and six in the top 10.
Apple (the overall most valuable brand in the world), Google, Microsoft and IBM dominate the top five, joining Visa. Expanding to the top 10, telcos AT&T and Verizon join the list. The value of technology brands rose 24% between 2014 and 2015 – the highest rise of any category.
According to Millward Brown, the success of Apple’s new large-screen iPhones drove its success. More APAC companies joined the top 100, including Huawei (#70 in the overall list, but #16 among technology firms). Samsung was just outside the top 10, in 11th place.
