Vizio Pays for Misleading Marketing of Refresh Rates

Vizio advertised 60Hz TVs as having an “effective” refresh rate of 120Hz and 120Hz TVs as having an “effective” rate of 240Hz. This was referring to backlight scanning/black frame insertion, not the actual refresh rate.
