Home Depot and Vizio Collaborate on QR Code-Enabled Holiday Series for Experimental Shopping on CTV

Home Depot has partnered with Vizio on a new shoppable holiday content series called Merry & Bright. The series features host Jordin Sparks giving homes holiday makeovers using Home Depot products. Viewers can scan QR codes during the show to shop the featured products on HomeDepot.com.

The series consists of three 10-minute episodes plus additional bonus content hosted by Sparks. It is exclusive to Vizio’s platform and available through December 31, 2023. Vizio sees it as an opportunity to move beyond traditional ads and deliver engaging branded entertainment centered around its audience’s interests. The series actually started on November 1, 2023, and it seems to be gaining traction with new coverage in the retail trade journals and publications.

For Home Depot, the series allows them to experiment with shoppable TV and video content, which they believe is an important future marketing channel. It fits with their strategy of finding new digital platforms to engage and retain DIY-focused customers. The retailer has previously experimented with live-streamed online workshops.
