What They Say
There seems to be a bit of acceleration in the arrival of new AR & VR hardware.
- HP is now taking orders for the Omnicept VR Headset at $1,249 and intended for professional use. We were impressed with the eye and face tracking in the headset. (HP Extends XR Beyond the Visuals)
- Tooz (a start-up with backing from Zeiss (Zeiss and Deutsche Telekom Join Forces on Smart Glass Platform)) has now made its development kit available.
- Pico will release its Neo 3 standalone VR headset on May 10th in China.
What We Think
In our part of the world, it feels like spring – a combination of the weather and the easing of lockdown following a successful vaccination campaign. That seems to have brought lots of news on VR and AR. I’m still nervous about mass adoption of VR, but as I have said before, the young members of my family have no doubt about the attractiveness of VR as an application. (BR)
