After the demise of the full ISE event in June (there will be a series of two day ‘local events’ including 2 days in Barcelona, and after Ericsson pulled out of MWC, Sony, Nokia, Facebook and Oracle announced that they too would pull out, despite tight restrictions being put on the event by the organisers.
The GSMA said that it still plans to go ahead with June’s in-person event, but added that it will also be offering vendors a virtual platform.
What We Think
Well, I’m glad that it looks as though I don’t need to make a decision about attendance. MWC is really a nightmare to get press credentials, as well, although I have always got them after a battle! (BR)
