What They Say
Digitimes reported a comment from the chairman of BenQ Materials that suggested that the ramp-up of new capacity from Chinese makers would ease the current tight supply of polariser film, although he denied that there is actually a shortage. The company is trying to boost its share of revenues from non-display production from 15% to 20%.
What We Think
It looks, from these comments, as though polarisers will not be a supply issue. BenQ says on its website that it can make films for TVs up to 85″. (BR)
