Foxconn Eases China Factory Restrictions

What They Say

Foxconn has ended most of the restrictions on its factory in Zhengzhou, China including the “point-to-point” system, in which employees had to restrict daily movements to between their dormitories and the campus. 

Bloomberg quoted IDC as saying that the firm might still have a potential shortage of workers because of dissatisfaction and sickness. 

What We Think

Covid is potentially going to be a disaster in China as the breakdown of the Covid Zero policy seems completely ‘ad hoc’. The population is largely un-vaccinated and sickness could overwhelm the health system and lead to a lot of deaths.

Apple shipments for Pro models is now out to 5-12th January in the UK.   (BR)
