Sources speaking to Mobile Geeks have said that mass production of Sony’s Android TV products (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 29) will begin in January, with release dates beginning in February.
As well as Google services, the TVs will apparently provide users with access to Sony’s PS4 Remote Play and Playstation Now (which will be linked to Google Games). The remote control will be a Sony ‘One Touch’ device – i.e. it will feature an NFC chip to transfer files to the TV from another NFC product – and the TVs will also directly support Playstation controllers, via Bluetooth.
Mobile Geeks’ sources have said that the TVs will start at $700 for a 43″ model, ranging as high as $4,000.
