Socionext Supports 8K With Video and Bridge Chips

Japanese supplier, Socionext, has developed a new ‘HV5’ series of chips that it will show at Ceatec and which support HDMI V2.1, to allow the display of 8K video with low latency. The SC1H05AC01 is an interface bridge chip and the SC1H05AT1 chip is a video processor.

The bridge chip supports the use of different interfaces and allows systems to support existing 8K video equipment which use four HDMI 2.0 cables to create the full resolution.
