Despite the global gloom in the smartphone market, Germany seems to still be seeing growth. The GfU said that the re-opening of specialist retail stores had helped the sales of smartphones to grow 4.5% in Q1 to more than five million with revenues up 16.9% to more than €3 billion as ASPs grew from €555 a year ago to €621 in Q1 2022, up 11.8%.
What We Think
Q2 will be interesting to see whether the positive Q1 report was just a blip as shops opened, or whether there is continuing good demand. (BR)
