SmallHD, a Vitec company, has released two new on-camera field monitors, claimed to be the brightest field monitors available. The 7″ 503 UltraBright and 7″ 703 UltraBright have 2,200 cd/m² and 2,500 cd/m², respectively and the displays have optically bonded Gorilla Glass protection. Both have FullHD resolution, HDMI In/Out, dual SDI in and SDI out and HDR Preview. The 5″ has 12v Lemo power and the 7″ has Lemo power out as well (Lemo power refers to a particular connector style – Man. Ed.)
Other features include 3D LUTs and waveform monitors and the ‘early adoptor’ bundle products include hardshell cases and neoprene sleeves. The 503 bundle costs $2,199 ($2,499 monitor only from 1st April) and the 703 bundle costs $2,599 ($2,999 monitor only from 1st April).
