Sling Media said that it would discontinue the supply its Slingbox products with immediate effect and would discontinue its support of the service in two years time in November 2022.
The company said that it would not be releasing any new products
What We Think
I knew people that really relied on Slingbox in the past to get content from the countries where they had previously lived ‘slung’ to their current homes. I suspect that these days with VPNs and streaming services, the facility to re-transmit TV is probably not needed. There are bound to be some, of course, that will be unhappy that their boxes will no longer work. (BR)
