Skylake Brings Huge Efficiency Gains

A report from Kitguru, citing an Intel document, shows that Intel’s upcoming Core-M Skylake chips – the next micro-architecture – will consume up to 60% less energy than comparable Broadwell devices. An image from Anandtech shows that the chips will also feature Iris Pro graphics that are 50% faster than existing units, due to a higher number of stream processors. They will also support WiGig connectivity and wireless charging (part of Intel’s drive to create a cable-free PC – TA). An announcement is expected in Q4.
